  • Ducks See Early Season Success at Cathedraltown!

    Ducks first meet of the swim season took place at the Cornell Pool in Markham over the weekend. Forty-nine Ducks from our A, Senior B and B Squads were entered in the meet and faced off against swimmers from 9 other Ontario based clubs. Overall we had an exceptional start to the season. Our B Squad dazzled with 7 swimmers attaining perfect scores (personal best times in all events swum). Congratulations to Bryn Barraclough, Brent Davison, Breanna Eady, Emma Lindsay, Nicolas Machell, Jade Needham and Andrew Van Dalen. 8 B swimmers claimed 9 podium positions from the B Squad: Holly Biasi, Hunter Edwards, Andrew Van Dalen, Bryn Barraclough, Abigail Juhola, Jade Needham, Thomas Nelander and Phoebe Redfern. Congratulations! Meeting the Festival Pre-Requisite Standards at this meet are: Thomas Nelander , 10 & Under Boy, 200 m Free; Emma Lindsay, 11 yr. girl, 200 m IM; Holly Biasi, 12 yr. girl, 400 m Free and 200 m IM.; and, Abigail Juhola 200 m IM. Good Job! The Senior B Squad had a dynamic start to the 2014-2015 season with 6 swimmers capturing perfect scores. Congratulations to Ava Bowers, Connor Crozier, Adriana Lang, Lucas Lazuran, Lynn Noda and Nathan Savage. Every swim from our Senior B swimmers was a personal best time, with the exception of 2 DQ’s. This is an exciting result from this group of swimmers. It is also noteworthy that Natalia Diamond placed in the top 8 in two of her events: 5th in the 400 m Free and 7th in the 200 m Free; and Alexey Kasatkin captured 7th spot in the 100 m breast. Congratulations to All! The A Squad sparkled as well, with 6 swimmers achieving perfect scores. A big shout out to Soorna Choheili, Ashley Endicott, Isabella Hernandez, Jayne Kim, Christopher McLelland and Emma Point! Twelve A swimmers turned in a total of 26 podium performances; they are: Sarah Bond, Stephanie Boston, Soorna Choheili, Stephanie Eady, Isabella Hernandez, Maxwell Jones, Jayne Kim, Carter McWilliams, Andrew Pignatelli, Karina Robb, Hayden Spiers and Chloe Taylor. Congratulations! Congratulations to Jayne Kim who made the Division II Team Championship Standard in the 200 m IM. Nice Job Jayne! Meeting the Provincial Age Group Standard for the first time this season are: Soorna Choheili in the 100 m free, 100 m Fly and 50 m Free, Boys 14 years; Andrew Pignatelli in the 50 m Free, Boys 13 years; Hayden Spiers in the 100 m Butterfly, Boys 14 years and Chloe Taylor in the 100 m Breast, Girls 14 years. Meeting the Regional C Standard for the first time……drum roll……Christopher McLelland. Well deserved Christopher -- Congratulations! Meeting the Ontario Age Group Provincial Pre-Requisite Standards are: Soorna Choheili in the 800 m Free, Boys 14 yrs.; Maxwell Jones in the 800 m Fee, Boys 14 yrs.; Andrew Pignatelli, 200 m IM, Boys 13 yrs.; and, Hayden Spiers, 800 m Free, Boys 14 yrs.

DUCKS SWIMMING CLUB INC. provides a multi-level program designed to develop interest and participation in competitive swimming. Swimmers are provided with a program to match their abilities and ambitions. Physical development, proper conditioning and good health habits are encouraged. Swimmers also learn team aspects of co-operation, responsibility and leadership, as well as individual dedication, confidence and self-esteem. An atmosphere is created in which the desire for self-improvement and goal achievement motivates the individual to develop their natural abilities and to help others do likewise.

DUCKS SWIMMING CLUB INC. is an incorporated not for profit club, run by experienced swim coaches. The Board of Directors and membership are made up of coaches with a minimum of 15 years experience.

VISION STATEMENT: Ducks Swimming is committed to be a progressive and dynamic team that promotes exciting, quality opportunities for all swimmers, with a specific focus on excellence.
